Project Overview

While this newsletter was a core brand asset, it needed a distinct identity to stand out amidst Clari’s existing content, especially on fast-moving platforms like LinkedIn.

Because of its bi-weekly cadence, the content team also needed easy-to-use templates that would allow them to quickly create compelling visuals without relying on the design team each time.

Goals

  • Give the Rise Up newsletter a unique visual identity that reflects its tone and purpose.

  • Build a scalable design system to support high-frequency publishing on social media.

  • Empower the content team with templates that were both easy to use and visually dynamic, without compromising on brand quality.

Process

I started by creating visual moodboards and logo explorations to carve out a look that feels aspirational, energetic, and distinct from Clari’s core design — while still aligning with the broader brand.

Solution

After finalizing the art direction, I designed modular post templates in Adobe Illustrator and then rebuilt them in Canva for easy use by the content team. These templates allowed anyone to drop in new edition numbers, headlines, text, and images, ensuring that each post remained visually fresh without needing full design support.

Once tested and approved, this system enabled the team to scale content production while freeing up the creative team for higher-priority design work.

The Newsletter

Impact

The Rise Up newsletter ran successfully for over two years, reaching a subscriber base of 10,000+ readers. Thanks to the Canva-based templates, the content team has been able to fully own and operate the newsletter without requiring any ongoing designer intervention — a true example of creating scalable, self-serve design systems that empower teams and preserve creative quality over time.
